Axis exists to keep parents fluent in what their teenagers are actually living in. The flagship is the Culture Translator, a free weekly email decoding the slang, apps, music and trends of the moment. Around it sit downloadable parent guides on individual topics — pornography, sexting, gender, anxiety, social media — plus seven-minute videos, video conversation kits built to start a specific conversation, a podcast, books and family experiences. The whole catalogue is free; Axis is a donor-funded 501(c)(3) with an optional monthly giving membership called The Table. For this directory the relevant use is prevention: a parent who wants to talk about pornography before it becomes a crisis will find a guide and a script here rather than a lecture.
