What it is
Melanie Hempe started ScreenStrong after her oldest son left college because of video game addiction, then used her nursing background to build something she applied to her three younger children. Its position is deliberately countercultural: moderation does not work with the most addictive digital environments, and the answer is removal plus replacement — real activities, life skills, family connection — rather than time limits. It names social media, video games and pornography as one problem, which matches how they actually arrive in a household. Offerings include the Kids' Brains & Screens curriculum for parents and students, the Connect community platform, a 7-day challenge, podcasts, workshops, school-based programmes and endorsed books. Secular and evidence-based, a 501(c)(3), with free resources alongside paid bundles. Recommend it to a parent who has tried screen-time limits and watched them fail.
