What it is
Most recovery material is about subtraction: stop this, block that, avoid the other. Transformed by Beauty argues the opposite direction — that pornography is a counterfeit of something real, and encountering genuine beauty is what recovers the capacity it deadened. It works through three personal narratives from a priest, a ballerina and a bodybuilder, and four themes: healing, using beauty to recover from pornography's damage; sacrament, a redeemed view of sexuality; asceticism, physical discipline and bodily wellbeing; and creating beauty, taking up your own role as a maker of beautiful things. Free from Covenant Eyes with an email signup. Best given to someone whose sobriety is holding and whose life has gone grey — which is a real and under-addressed stage of recovery.
