What it is
Called to Peace exists because the church response to abuse has so often been the wrong one: couples counselling where there should have been safety, forgiveness urged before anything changed, a woman sent home. It offers advocacy for survivors, Restore support groups, healing retreats, and an advocate training course for people who want to help others. The church partnership programme is the piece with the widest reach — it equips congregations to recognise abuse and respond without making things more dangerous. For your directory the value is that it lets a woman get help without leaving her faith at the door, which for many is the barrier that keeps them from calling anyone at all. Use it alongside the National Domestic Violence Hotline, which offers text and chat when a phone call is not safe.
