What it is

Desert Stream has run for decades under founder Andrew Comiskey, and its flagship is Living Waters: a facilitated small-group program aimed at what the ministry calls radical wholeness, working on sexual and relational brokenness in a group over an extended course rather than in a weekend. Two companion programs widen the door — Crosscurrent, for people seeking truth and grace in their sexuality, and Oasis, for the family and friends carrying it alongside them, which is a rarity in this field. Groups are hosted by partner churches internationally rather than run centrally, so availability and cost depend entirely on your local host. The ministry describes its work as grounded in Jesus' mercy and the dignity of people made in God's image, and maintains both an Episcopal Board and a general Board of Directors. Note that Comiskey's approach to same-sex attraction is traditional and has been publicly debated — worth knowing before recommending it to someone.
