Directory overview

What it is

Your directory argues that this industry exploits people. Until now it offered those people nothing. Treasures was founded in 2003 by Harmony Dust Grillo, who worked in the industry herself, and it is staffed substantially by women who did too — which is why it opens with the line that they know its realities firsthand rather than a statistic. The work is mentorship, peer support groups, exit planning and holistic recovery, plus training for churches and community leaders who want to reach women without shaming them into the ground first. They report serving over 8,000 women across 139 cities, with 83% reporting meaningful improvement in wellbeing. The approach is trauma-informed and the faith is present without being a condition of entry, which is precisely the posture that makes a woman still in the industry willing to make contact at all. Free to the women it serves.
