What it is

Jonathan Welton writes against the containment model that dominates men's purity material. His argument is that a man who is only avoiding is still organized around the thing he is avoiding, and that lasting change comes from an identity — honour toward women, and a settled sense of who he already is in Christ — that makes the behaviour incongruent rather than merely forbidden. The training language in the title is deliberate: he treats it as a discipline to be developed rather than a line to hold.
